Traditional Religious Icon painted by Father David

Christ the Teacher2

A traditional-style 11/12 icon of Christ Pantocrator created by our own Father David. Christ Pantocrator was one of the first images of Christ developed in the Early Christian Church.

Christ holds the new testament in his left hand and makes the gesture of teaching or blessing in his right. Holding a Gospel declaring: “I am the Light of the world” Christ blesses the beholder. His halo includes the letters “I AM,” symbolizing His divinity and referring to His words, “”Before Abraham was, I AM.” The Greek letters “IC” and “XC” in the upper corners of the icon are abbreviations of the Greek words for “Jesus”” and “Christ.”

If you viewed “Art for the Soul” last month, then you saw samples of Father David’s outstanding artwork.

Retail price: $200-$300
